My First Giveaway!

Being a writer is freaking awesome. Especially when you don’t try to do it alone. These past few months, I’ve had so much help for which I am so, so grateful–from beta readers, to crit partners, to authors I e-mail who e-mail me back (Junot Diaz–I <3 you). In part of my effort to give back a little, I’m introducing my first giveaway. Comment on this post, and you will be entered to win one of the fabulous books pictured below (all pubbed in 2012, all read–and enjoyed–by yours truly). Or, if you prefer, I’ll give you a ten-page critique. Or both. Because I’ll probably be so excited you entered my contest, I’ll just want to give you everything.

Contest starts now and ends on February 28th!

And the winner is… Jeri!

Picture 1Since I just felt like it, I chose two winners.

And the other winner is… Shannon!

Congrats, Jeri and Shannon, and thanks to everyone who entered the contest.

  1. what do you mean, shoes aren’t included? RIP OFF! Okay, even though the shoes aren’t included (are they a size 9? they look like my size…) I’d be happy to have any one of these books – Roundhouse is on my to read list and the others all sound wonderful. I didn’t know you wrote to Junot Diaz and he wrote back – how awesome are you?

    • I’m going through a heel phase. Though that’s not going quite so well while I’m in Ohio. (For the record, snow and cute heels do not mix.)

Yes! He did! I e-mailed him after reading and loving The Brief Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao (I didn’t mention my feelings about This is How You Lose Her). This is my new thing: e-mailing authors when I read their books and love them. So far, one for one isn’t bad!

  2. Hey it’s the 28th today but it looks like I’m too late!! Good for you on writing to Junot Diaz. Awesome he replied. Thanks for having the giveaway anyway. I’d have gone for the 10 critique. Oh well. Next time. Good to meet you :-)

  3. I am sorry that I missed your give-away but I wanted to comment regardless on the brief summary Jeri provided for The Trouble With Knowing. I am so very intrigued with it. If you haven’t already read the memoir Lying I highly suggest you do.
